About the role

  • QA Analyst responsible for validating software quality for animation products at Toon Boom. Engaging in rigorous testing and collaboration with developers for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • As a QA Analyst reporting to the QA Team Lead, you will play a key role in controlling and continuously improving the quality of our products.
  • End-to-end manual testing: perform comprehensive smoke, regression, and user-experience tests to identify and document defects on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Animation workflow validation: validate complex 2D/3D pipelines (Harmony/Storyboard Pro), ensuring rigs, node networks, camera moves, and audio synchronization meet studio standards.
  • Data and workflow integrity: test production workflows based on roles, permissions, and reporting accuracy in high-volume, real-world scenarios.
  • Strategic test planning: design and maintain detailed test plans and test cases, working closely with developers to prevent regressions.
  • Troubleshooting and support: investigate complex technical issues, provide clear bug reports, and offer occasional first-line support for critical R&D issues.
  • Automation growth: identify candidates for automation and support the expansion of automated test suites (prior experience is a strong asset).

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software quality assurance with strong knowledge of manual testing methodologies.
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into detailed test cases and use cases.
  • Practical experience with, or a strong interest in, automated testing and familiarity with automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency with issue-tracking systems (notably Jira) and test case management software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with technical team members and stakeholders.
  • Self-driven: take ownership of tasks, provide detailed feedback, and adapt to dynamic project needs with minimal supervision.
