About the role
- Staff Data Analyst monitoring Personal Loans underwriting models at Upstart, an AI lending marketplace. Investigating credit performance, evaluating experiments, and automating senior-leadership reporting.
Responsibilities
- Own credit and performance monitoring for the Personal Loans product
- Identify performance trends, investigate root causes, and recommend targeted treatments
- Perform rigorous statistical analyses to evaluate past experiments and natural experiments
- Build and maintain workflows that automate and scale standard reporting
- Provide recurring reporting and performance tracking for model and credit performance
- Provide regular visibility to senior leadership and support data-driven decisions
- Proactively monitor portfolio and model performance, diagnose unexpected outcomes, and drive business impact
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Operations Research, Physics, or a related field
- Experience with Python and SQL
- Strong analytical and first-principles thinking
- Ability to tackle complex and ambiguous problems
- Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
- Ability to clearly articulate complex analytical concepts to diverse audiences
- 6+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related quantitative field
