About the role
- Part-time finance associate supporting accounting, reporting, payroll, and financial operations. Helping Toronto-based VendorPM modernize vendor and property-manager workflows through commercial real estate SaaS.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day accounting operations, including managing invoices, bills, journal entries, and payments in Xero, Float and Stripe.
- Lead the preparation of month end accrual schedules and entries.
- Create and maintain financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including departmental budget-to-actual updates.
- Assist with payroll processes, including running payroll cycles, calculating commissions and benefits, and processing reimbursements.
- Help maintain and improve finance and accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with sales, customer success, and HR to support business operations and financial initiatives.
- Contribute to ad hoc analysis and special projects as the company grows.
- Report to the Finance Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or related role.
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and comfortable working with data.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- A proactive, “roll up your sleeves” mindset with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Pursuing or interested in pursuing a CPA designation (bonus).
- Familiarity with foundational SaaS business metrics (e.g., ARR, Churn) (bonus).
- Exposure to modern financial tools (e.g., Stripe, Xero, Float) (bonus).
