- Java/Spring Boot developer building robust APIs and modernizing banking back-end services. VO2 deploys consultants to hybrid client missions in Montreal.
Responsibilities
- Develop, modernize, or stabilize back-end services for clients, particularly in the banking and financial sectors
- Design robust APIs that perform reliably in production
- Work directly within client teams
- Participate in occasional, high-value client assignments and challenges
- Adapt to client timelines and schedules while remaining part of VO2
- Communicate technical decisions to architects and business teams
- Work on projects using Agile methodologies
Requirements
- Only candidates located in Quebec will be considered
- At least 4 years of experience developing back-end applications in Java, including substantial experience with Spring Boot
- Advanced proficiency in Java 11+
- Advanced proficiency in the Spring Boot ecosystem, including Spring Data and Spring Security
- Experience with microservices architectures and REST APIs
- Comfortable with Git, Maven or Gradle, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker
- Experience with Kafka or Kubernetes is an asset
- Experience working with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Fluency in French, both spoken and written
- Ability to explain technical decisions to architects and business teams
- Oracle Java (OCP), Spring, or cloud certification (AWS, Azure) is an asset
