About the role

  • Events Marketing Manager owning Wagepoint’s tradeshows, summits, Wagefest, and webinar programs. Driving growth for fintech payroll software serving small businesses across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Own Wagepoint's annual event strategy and calendar across tradeshows, industry events, customer and partner events, proprietary experiences, and annual summits
  • Research and evaluate event opportunities based on audience, strategic fit, cost, reach, and potential business impact
  • Build event plans covering objectives, target audience, experience, promotion strategy, budget, timelines, and success measures
  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of tradeshows and industry events
  • Own Wagefest strategy, programming, promotion, production, and post-event follow-up
  • Plan and execute three annual summits
  • Manage event budgets, vendors, venues, production partners, and suppliers
  • Own event timelines, registrations, travel, shipping, staffing, and logistics
  • Build repeatable event playbooks, checklists, processes, and templates
  • Establish success measures, track performance and ROI, and improve future event decisions
  • Execute Wagepoint's webinar strategy, including scheduling, speaker coordination, registration, promotion, platform setup, live production, and follow-up
  • Collaborate with Sales and external partners on target audiences, objectives, pre-booked meetings, and follow-up
  • Coordinate event assets with the broader marketing team
  • Partner with Marketing, SMB and Partner Sales teams on post-event plans
  • Report directly to the Growth Marketing Manager
  • Anticipate problems, close gaps, and ensure events are organized and ready

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in event marketing, field marketing, experiential marketing, or a related role
  • Experience owning events from strategy and planning through execution and post-event measurement
  • Experience with tradeshows, conferences, virtual events, and executive or customer experiences
  • Proven ability to build event plans and budgets and manage vendors, agencies, and production partners
  • Experience planning and running webinars, including platform setup, promotion, and live production
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercial mindset and understanding of event investment, growth, relationships, and brand
  • Strong ownership and accountability
  • Hands-on approach to managing and executing all aspects of events
  • Adaptability when priorities change
  • Ability to track event performance and ROI
  • Bonus: experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, or another complex category
  • Bonus: experience marketing to SMBs, accountants, or bookkeepers
  • Bonus: experience owning large-scale virtual events or multi-day conferences
  • Bonus: experience with partner, customer, or executive events
  • Bonus: experience using event platforms, marketing automation, and CRM tools
