About the role
- Brokerage operations associate processing corporate actions and dividends for Wealthsimple’s Canadian financial platform. Reconciling client positions, resolving breaks, and improving back-office processes.
Responsibilities
- Own the daily processing of corporate actions and dividends across client accounts
- Catch and resolve discrepancies before they reach clients
- Work directly with Operations Associates to maintain accurate client records
- Act as the subject matter expert on tax issues related to corporate actions and dividends
- Partner with the Trade Desk, securities lending, management, and other teams to escalate and resolve critical issues and reduce risk
- Analyze the impact of new product launches on corporate action and dividend processes and implement required changes
- Troubleshoot, manage, and proactively resolve reconciliation differences
- Use data to identify inefficiencies and fix them
- Develop processes to increase back-office operational efficiency
- Report to the Team Lead of Corporate Actions
Requirements
- 2+ years at a broker-dealer handling back-office corporate action processing for equities and options (CIRO-regulated dealer preferred)
- Experience working with CDS, DTC, OCC, and CDCC
- Strong Excel skills
- Comfortable with large data sets and able to identify position or entitlement breaks and explain their causes
- Progress toward or completion of CSC, DFOL, or similar industry courses (nice to have)
- Familiarity with programming, especially SQL (nice to have)
- Familiarity with Claude AI or Claude Code (nice to have)
- Naturally curious, organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work accurately against tight, non-negotiable deadlines
- Excellent people skills and a positive attitude
- Willingness to escalate issues early
- Genuine interest in how markets and technology intersect
