About the role

Senior Software Developer at Wealthsimple enhancing platform reliability and collaborating with product teams to improve financial services. Engage in systematic problem solving and ownership of system components.

Responsibilities

Partner directly with product engineers to diagnose and resolve production issues, building solutions that prevent recurrence
Take end-to-end ownership of system components, designing with reliability and maintainability as primary concerns
Contribute to platform tools and frameworks that help all engineers ship reliably
Collaborate with Platform, Product, and Data partners to align technical decisions with client needs
Help establish technical standards and best practices for development at Wealthsimple

6+ years of software development experience building products with demonstrated growth in technical scope and autonomy
Experience in optimizing platform engineering and/or infrastructure
Knowledge of 2 or more of the following languages: Ruby on Rails / TypeScript / Kotlin
Experience using LLMs to drive broad changes across codebases (Claude)
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex issues across multiple systems and keen interest in getting to the root cause
Experience designing and maintaining production systems with high availability requirements
Strong communication and collaboration skills. You can explain complex technical concepts clearly and work effectively with stakeholders across different backgrounds.
