Responsibilities

Lead, grow, and manage a team of engineers building software for new or improved features in Xero's products.
Champion processes and practices to enable great engineering work and cultivate talent.
Ensure team delivers quality software faster to impact the overall product vision.
Own the hiring process, identify skill gaps, and empower decentralized decisions.
Mentor Junior and Senior engineers in their careers and performance development.
Coordinate cross-team dependencies and engage in collaborative alignment.

Proven experience managing software development teams and building a healthy, inclusive team culture.
A thorough understanding of modern software development practices, agile delivery, system architecture and incident management.
Collaborative approach to work seamlessly with product, design and cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong communication skills to navigate conflict openly.
Growth mindset with exceptional coaching and mentoring abilities.
Technical familiarity with high-scale products, fintech, .NET or React.
