About the role
- Hiring Python & SQL Developers for contract roles in Toronto with a Top 5 Canadian Bank. Work on data-heavy apps, complex SQL, APIs, and ETL.
Responsibilities
- You will work with a Finance & Risk Technology team building and supporting applications for capital calculations, regulatory reporting, data extraction and transformation, Python-based applications and services, complex SQL queries and database optimization, REST API development and integration, and production support and performance troubleshooting.
Requirements
- 8+ years overall development experience, 4+ years professional Python development, advanced Python coding and framework experience, 6+ years strong SQL experience, hands-on experience with complex queries and performance tuning, 6+ years working with relational databases like SQL Server or Oracle, 4+ years REST API development/integration experience, strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles, experience with DevOps practices and code quality standards. Bonus: Git/version control, large-scale data systems, Agile/Scrum, banking/finance/risk/regulatory reporting exposure, cloud exposure.
