System Administrator contract role in Toronto supporting IBM iSeries servers. Requires 5-10 years experience with IBM iSeries administration, upgrades, and security management.
Responsibilities
The day to day activities should consists of the following key responsibilities • Support IBM iSeries (AS/400) servers. • Work with vendor / partners, responsible for any enhancement upgrades/patching and the daily operations of the systems, maintain maximum availability of IBM iSeries servers. • Lead projects associated to the enhancement upgrade / patching, or implementation of new or existing technology solutions on IBM I • Work with hosting partner, install of cumulative PTFs and upgrade packages • Setup Robot job scheduling and production promotion • Maintain and upgrade third party vendor software on IBM I • Setup, maintain and monitor IBM I security as per Security group requirement • Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting, and ensure compliance with al IT policies and procedures • Provide after hour support to address critical business and / or IT issues
