About the role
- Global Category Manager shaping ABB Analytical’s global mechanical sourcing strategy. Leading suppliers, negotiations, cost optimization, and resilient supply-chain execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the global strategy for the mechanical category for the Analytical Business Line
- Consolidate the global strategy and supply base with factories
- Build a resilient, cost-optimized supply chain
- Lead sourcing strategies using the CIPS process
- Ensure the supply base has capability and capacity for current and future requirements
- Negotiate agreements with key suppliers
- Renew price lists and manage terms and conditions
- Manage procurement planning, budgets, savings forecasts, and cost-out programs
- Identify, investigate, and select suppliers based on quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability
- Provide ongoing contract management and supplier oversight
- Ensure stakeholders execute the strategy and achieve category sourcing performance targets
Requirements
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing and category management
- Experience ideally within mechanical components, castings, forgings, or plastics
- Track record of building and executing global strategies
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Negotiation and supplier relationship management experience
- Data-driven approach to analysis and reporting
- Ability to align factories, local teams, and global leadership
- Collaborative working style
- Ability to work across local, regional, and global teams
