About the role
- Walmart Canada sourcing manager optimizing food-category margins through supplier negotiations and RFP/RFQ/RFI processes. Managing vendor relationships, savings plans, buying timelines, and transitions.
Responsibilities
- Execute sourcing strategies for Private Brand and National Brand items, primarily in the food category
- Maximize margins and profitable sales across various departments
- Collaborate with product teams to identify categories for RFP/RFQ/RFI processes
- Present sourcing options and recommendations to the business
- Diversify suppliers and negotiate products based on approved specifications
- Manage supplier communications and ensure understanding of brand standards
- Develop and execute savings and cost-mitigation plans
- Define buying timelines and coordinate with supply chain and category managers
- Maintain and strengthen vendor relations through regular communication
- Attend trade shows to foster supplier relationships as needed
- Build effective working relationships with internal teams
- Manage vendor transitions to minimize product availability risks
- Demonstrate Walmart leadership expectations around respect, integrity, customer service, and continuous improvement
