About the role

  • Project Manager at Aggreko managing complex projects and leading teams in North America. Engaging with engineering and multiple stakeholders while ensuring project success.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Major Projects Program Manager and Major Projects Leader to provide leadership and mentoring across Major Projects team
  • Manage a wide range of complex projects within established processes and tools, following formal project management principles
  • Manage 3-5 major projects at a time through entire project life cycle
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities regarding installation, commissioning, maintenance, and demobilization
  • Primary interface with client, contractors, client’s engineer, internal Engineering department, vendors and internal technical service representatives
  • Track project against its schedule, budget and against phase review objectives, reporting status to management and customer regularly
  • Mentor mid-level and junior project managers
  • Conduct field assessments of team’s skills and behaviors, providing opportunities for learning and process improvements
  • Be a safety champion: Lead by example and hold others responsible for working safely and providing a safe working environment
  • Travel 40-60 % of time to any area in North America in varying industries and environments

Requirements

  • 5+ years of significant project experience managing field-related projects in one or more sectors: Utility, Petrochem/Refining, Building Construction and Services
  • Knowledge in HVAC/R, electrical power generation/transmission/distribution is a plus
  • Experience in managing EPC, EPCM or similar Integrated project teams
  • Strong focus on HSE and safety leadership
  • Strong negotiation skills for effective management and resolution of conflicts with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and communication skills for effective leadership of multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, P&IDs and process design packages
  • Preferred Qualifications: PMP, CM-Lean, or similar project management certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar.
