Responsibilities
Work with Major Projects Program Manager and Major Projects Leader to provide leadership and mentoring across Major Projects team
Manage a wide range of complex projects within established processes and tools, following formal project management principles
Manage 3-5 major projects at a time through entire project life cycle
Plan, organize, and direct activities regarding installation, commissioning, maintenance, and demobilization
Primary interface with client, contractors, client’s engineer, internal Engineering department, vendors and internal technical service representatives
Track project against its schedule, budget and against phase review objectives, reporting status to management and customer regularly
Mentor mid-level and junior project managers
Conduct field assessments of team’s skills and behaviors, providing opportunities for learning and process improvements
Be a safety champion: Lead by example and hold others responsible for working safely and providing a safe working environment
Travel 40-60 % of time to any area in North America in varying industries and environments
Requirements
5+ years of significant project experience managing field-related projects in one or more sectors: Utility, Petrochem/Refining, Building Construction and Services
Knowledge in HVAC/R, electrical power generation/transmission/distribution is a plus
Experience in managing EPC, EPCM or similar Integrated project teams
Strong focus on HSE and safety leadership
Strong negotiation skills for effective management and resolution of conflicts with internal and external stakeholders
Strong organizational and communication skills for effective leadership of multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, P&IDs and process design packages
Preferred Qualifications: PMP, CM-Lean, or similar project management certification
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar.
