About the role
- Project Manager at Aggreko managing complex projects and leading teams in North America. Engaging with engineering and multiple stakeholders while ensuring project success.
Responsibilities
- Work with Major Projects Program Manager and Major Projects Leader to provide leadership and mentoring across Major Projects team
- Manage a wide range of complex projects within established processes and tools, following formal project management principles
- Manage 3-5 major projects at a time through entire project life cycle
- Plan, organize, and direct activities regarding installation, commissioning, maintenance, and demobilization
- Primary interface with client, contractors, client’s engineer, internal Engineering department, vendors and internal technical service representatives
- Track project against its schedule, budget and against phase review objectives, reporting status to management and customer regularly
- Mentor mid-level and junior project managers
- Conduct field assessments of team’s skills and behaviors, providing opportunities for learning and process improvements
- Be a safety champion: Lead by example and hold others responsible for working safely and providing a safe working environment
- Travel 40-60 % of time to any area in North America in varying industries and environments
Requirements
- 5+ years of significant project experience managing field-related projects in one or more sectors: Utility, Petrochem/Refining, Building Construction and Services
- Knowledge in HVAC/R, electrical power generation/transmission/distribution is a plus
- Experience in managing EPC, EPCM or similar Integrated project teams
- Strong focus on HSE and safety leadership
- Strong negotiation skills for effective management and resolution of conflicts with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational and communication skills for effective leadership of multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, P&IDs and process design packages
- Preferred Qualifications: PMP, CM-Lean, or similar project management certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar.
