Developing curricula, assessing caregiver competencies, and partnering with Indigenous communities and child intervention stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Deliver provincially mandated, trauma-informed caregiver training in in-person and virtual environments using adult learning principles.
Provide guidance and support to caregivers applying learning to the day-to-day care of children and youth.
Assess caregiver learning and competency development, provide individualized feedback, track participation and attendance, and support completion of training requirements.
Collaborate with Learning and Development consultants, subject matter experts, caregivers, and external partners to develop and update curricula, facilitator guides, learning resources, and training tools.
Ensure training content remains current, relevant, culturally appropriate, and aligned with legislation, policy, and child intervention practice.
Develop and maintain relationships with ministry divisions, Delegated First Nation Agencies, Indigenous communities, Elders, caregivers, and external partners.
Coordinate co-facilitation, experienced caregiver engagement, training schedules, and provincial learning opportunities.
Apply knowledge of child development, trauma-informed practice, caregiver competencies, Indigenous cultures, legislation, policy, and child intervention practices to strengthen caregiver practice.
Requirements
Bachelor of Social Work and 1 year of related experience.
Alternatives include Master of Social Work and some related experience; related university degree and 3 years of related experience; related diploma and 4 years of related experience; or related certificate and 5 years of related experience.
Preference given to candidates with 5+ years of experience.
Extensive knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed care, family systems, separation, loss and grief, and impacts of abuse and neglect.
Experience working within child intervention and caregiver support systems, including relevant legislation, policies, practices, programs, and community resources.
Experience designing, developing, and delivering adult learning programs.
Knowledge of adult learning principles, current training methodologies, online learning platforms, and instructional tools.
Experience coaching, mentoring, facilitating, or assessing caregivers, including responding appropriately to sensitive or challenging situations.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to build collaborative relationships and develop culturally responsive learning approaches.
Experience working with Indigenous communities, diverse populations, internal partners, and external stakeholders.
