Responsibilities

  • Settle litigated injury/liability claims in a fair and timely manner
  • Investigate, evaluate and negotiate bodily injury claims with plaintiff counsel or through defense counsel to equitably settle claims
  • Adhere to company Bodily Injury Guidelines
  • Assess information and case law to form arguments to defend liability position
  • Foster strong working relationships within the Claims Department, other business units and industry partners

Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent (bonus points for related post-secondary education)
  • CIP/FCIP designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada (or working towards it)
  • at least 2 years of bodily injury claims adjusting experience and 5 years or more of adjusting experience
  • strong knowledge of litigation file handling procedures, case law, medical terminology and common injuries
