About the role

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, assess, and manage insurance claims from initial notice through final settlement
  • Review claims to validate their accuracy, completeness, coverage eligibility, and compliance with policy terms
  • Recommend claim approval, denial, or escalation as needed
  • Analyze available information to determine liability and assess risk exposure
  • Handle complex and high-value claims within delegated authority
  • Provide technical coaching and support to team members
  • Collaborate with managers to identify process improvement and operational efficiency opportunities
  • Participate in quarterly leadership reviews
  • Conduct monthly file audits and quality reviews
  • Identify trends and implement corrective action plans
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, critical thinking, innovation, and accountability
  • Track performance metrics and contribute to the achievement of departmental, corporate, and provincial regulatory objectives
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience and fair, timely settlements

Requirements

  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written
  • Valid and active personal lines adjuster license issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in automobile claims adjusting
  • Excellent knowledge of insurance policies, claims investigations, and settlement practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and applications operating in a Windows environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment
  • Collaborative mindset and strong commitment to teamwork and customer satisfaction
  • Experience handling complex or escalated claims
  • Ability to serve as a mentor, coach, and technical resource to colleagues
  • Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Excellent customer advocacy skills combined with sound business judgment
