About the role

  • Software Engineer building scalable full-stack and production AI features for Athennian’s corporate entity governance platform. Driving architecture, testing, security, and modern TypeScript development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable software solutions
  • Participate in technical discussions and contribute to system architecture decisions
  • Focus system design on configurability and long-term maintainability
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of production AI capabilities such as RAG systems, vector search, LLM integrations, and autonomous agents
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools while maintaining code integrity
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate user needs into features and improvements
  • Optimize application performance and ensure security and reliability
  • Conduct thorough code reviews
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges and propose solutions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, including LLM integrations and automated testing advancements
  • Guide the team on modern engineering best practices, TypeScript typing, and AI prompting for complex refactors
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver full-stack solutions
  • Report to the Sr Engineering Manager

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building scalable, enterprise-grade applications
  • Experience in fast-paced software startup environments where shipping and iterating quickly is essential
  • Proven track record of shipping and operating real-world AI features in a live product, including RAG, LLM integrations, vector search, or AI agents
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript environments, specifically the MEAN stack: MongoDB, Express, Angular, and Node.js
  • Fluency with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor and Copilot
  • Experience with automated testing using Jest, Cypress, and Playwright
  • Experience with CI/CD and cloud infrastructure including AWS, GCP, Azure, and Docker
  • Solid relational/NoSQL database foundation
  • Experience with vector search or search indexing, such as MongoDB Atlas Vector Search
  • Security-first mindset for handling sensitive corporate data
  • Ability to explain technical and AI trade-offs to non-technical partners
  • Must be able to live and work full-time in Canada
