Mechanical Technologist testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining nuclear retube tooling for AtkinsRéalis and Qinshan projects. Supporting engineering changes, equipment assembly, and project-site execution.
Responsibilities
Support the Qinshan tooling scope
Test, troubleshoot and provide execution support for tooling systems
Read engineering drawings for nuclear tooling using SolidWorks
Implement tooling updates and modifications based on OPEX, design feedback and lessons learned
Support Engineering Change Notices by preparing technical inputs, implementing design revisions and documenting impacts
Document test results, issues and potential design improvements for future tool builds
Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with company procedures and policies
Assemble, repair and maintain nuclear retube equipment
Coordinate and complete multiple tasks
Participate in equipment testing programs and troubleshoot mechanical systems
Support material handling activities and manually lift tooling and equipment
Coordinate other technicians/trades on project deliverables when applicable
Prepare route sheets and engineering documentation deliverables for nuclear tooling
Complete prioritized work requests on time
Requirements
Diploma of Collegial studies in mechanical engineering technology, certificate of qualification from College of Trades and Apprenticeship or relevant technical experience
8 to 10 years of experience in mechanical assembly/testing/repair of nuclear inspection tooling and shop equipment
Experience with tooling repair, maintenance and operation
Compliance with applicable Engineering and Quality Assurance procedures
Maintain up-to-date training and qualification records and complete required certifications and training on time
Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical systems
Knowledge of mechanical parts obsolescence and ability to source replacements
Organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and multitask
Demonstrated ability to support complex and parallel technical projects
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Willingness to travel to and potentially work at project sites
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work hands-on with mechanical systems
Ability to prepare route sheets and engineering documentation deliverables for nuclear tooling
