About the role

  • Claims Adjuster specializing in Lifestyle claims, assisting customers with cottages and watercraft at Aviva Canada. Manage claims, negotiate settlements, and provide exceptional service during challenging moments.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze policies, appraisals, and technical reports to assess claim value and negotiate fair settlements
  • Manage an active caseload of claims, ensuring timely and accurate resolution
  • Create outstanding experiences for our customers, turning stressful situations into positive moments
  • Operate within your authority, using judgment to resolve claims efficiently
  • Maintain detailed, accurate file records and adhere to all protocols
  • Work closely with various teams to produce good claims outcomes

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5+ years of previous claims adjusting experience
  • Genuine interest in Lifestyle claims (e.g., cottage properties, watercraft)
  • Progress toward or completion of Insurance Institute Program (CIP/FCIP)
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree
  • Provincial licenses for Atlantic provinces
  • Experience with handling watercraft or habitational claims in excess of $100,000.00
