About the role
- Technical Solutions Consultant fixing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL issues for MCSL’s higher-education reporting software clients. Delivering custom development and client-facing technical solutions remotely across Canada.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with higher-education clients to diagnose and fix technical issues in their environments
- Write and modify Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code to resolve client issues
- Carry fixes into MCSL's development environment where needed
- Deliver custom development for clients as needed
- Explain technical problems, fixes and next steps clearly to client stakeholders
- Work closely with the Technical Solutions lead and take ownership of an increasing share of client work
- Learn MCSL's wider stack, including ASP.NET, Visual Studio and JavaScript, as required
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on development experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including writing and changing code
- Strong verbal and written communication, including ability to work directly with clients
- Ability to work 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time
- Experience with Ellucian Banner strongly preferred
- Exposure to ASP.NET, Visual Studio or JavaScript nice to have
- Experience in higher education or with university and college clients nice to have
- Broad technical background and track record of quickly learning new languages and tools nice to have
