Senior Paralegal supporting Best Buy Canada’s privacy requests, legal administration, and litigation files. Managing confidential records, legal operations, and dispute documentation for a major Canadian tech retailer.
Responsibilities
Provide legal and administrative support to Best Buy Canada’s Legal team, focusing on privacy matters, legal administration, and litigation support
Manage privacy escalations and disclosure requests, including store-camera and related customer requests
Process and track OneTrust data-subject requests, including access, deletion, and rectification requests
Support privacy incidents and customer complaint investigations
Open, maintain, and close legal and litigation files and manage related records, deadlines, calendars, trackers, and retention activities
Support litigation and dispute matters through investigation, research, drafting, demand responses, settlements, defenses, and hearing/trial materials under counsel’s direction
Support Legal department operations, including reporting, budgets, invoices, coding, supplier setup, mail, communications, reminders, access, and contract transfers
Cross-train across Legal support functions and provide vacation and peak-workload coverage
Requirements
Five years of experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and organize work effectively
Experience negotiating and communicating effectively with customers, senior leaders, managers, and other stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with accuracy, discretion, and timely follow-up
French-language skills are an asset
