About the role
- Senior Claims Analyst adjudicating individual disability and critical illness claims for Canada Life. Responsible for assessing claims and consulting with various stakeholders for decision making.
Responsibilities
- Developing the claim file by assessing various factors (medical, finances, occupation) required to assess the disability
- Reviewing all the information when received and arriving at a decision to either accept or deny the claim
- Consulting with the Medical Board, accountant, legal counsel and peers
- Communicating by letter, telephone and email with policyholders, doctors, agents and lawyers for the purpose of requesting information, explaining decisions and defending claim policies and guidelines
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role requiring good judgement skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadline driven tasks
- Excellent time management skills
- Proven analytical ability
- Proven ability to make decisions independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
- Strong customer service skills
- Bilingualism is an asset (fluent in French and English)
