About the role

  • Team Manager leading high performing IT professionals at Alberta Blue Cross. Responsible for operations management and service delivery excellence with a focus on professional development and optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to foster team growth and enhance overall performance
  • Provide leadership to a team of high performing IT professionals to deliver high-quality business solutions
  • Champion change management initiatives by identifying areas for process optimization and implementing best practices
  • Encourage a proactive approach to problem-solving, empowering team members to propose and implement improvements
  • Promote the wellness of team members
  • Drive pilot initiatives and proof of concepts (POCs)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and integration of changes
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Monitor and measure the success of improvement initiatives
  • Manage performance of the team and individuals through metrics
  • Prepare resource plans and allocate team members to operational and project work
  • Recruit, coach, and develop team members
  • Participate and lead cross-functional initiatives and committees

Requirements

  • University degree/diploma or completion of a technical institute diploma program
  • A minimum of five years of leadership in an IT related organization or team
  • Ability to function effectively in day-to-day resource management and strategic leadership roles
  • Demonstrated strength in planning, organizing, and setting priorities
  • Solid understanding of the System Development Life Cycle
  • Working knowledge of Agile framework is a plus
  • Experience embedding AI tools in the workflow to enhance productivity is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
