About the role

  • Local media buying specialist planning and negotiating French-content media campaigns for CBC/Radio-Canada. Managing partners, budgets, ad delivery, contracts, and performance reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze media opportunities and select appropriate media partners
  • Help establish spend targets
  • Evaluate opportunity costs and make recommendations
  • Participate in partner meetings
  • Assess feasibility of creative concepts with internal and external stakeholders
  • Request and review proposals from traditional and digital media partners
  • Negotiate approved placements and finalize agreements
  • Collaborate with the media planning team
  • Traffic campaigns within the CM360 ad server
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to deliver creative assets in required formats and on schedule
  • Manage relationships with local media partners
  • Serve as point of contact for internal teams and external partners
  • Communicate variations in media plan execution
  • Optimize placements with media partners to achieve campaign goals
  • Assist with budget tracking and invoice reconciliation for direct buys
  • Oversee contract workflows and administrative follow-through
  • Review invoices and contracts with internal teams
  • Consolidate media buys to meet annual investment targets
  • Prepare post-buy reports and present strategic recommendations
  • Monitor market trends and share insights with internal teams

Requirements

  • University degree in marketing, communications, business administration or a related field
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within an agency or internal marketing department
  • Strong proficiency with the CM360 ad server is an asset
  • Strong proficiency with Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets, for budget tracking and managing planning tools
  • Intermediate English proficiency is an asset
  • French reading, speaking, and writing at advanced level (C)
  • Solid understanding of the Canadian media landscape and advertising products
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and business acumen
  • Ability to evaluate strategic scenarios and develop innovative, competitive plans
  • Strategic mindset with an action- and results-oriented approach
  • Rigorous attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities
