About the role

  • Granting Program Manager supporting implementation of granting programming streams for Indigenous youth-led organization. Coordinating outreach initiatives and grant lifecycle while fostering leadership culture.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the launch and implementation of granting streams
  • Communicate with grantees to notify of decisions, collect necessary information, and issue contracts
  • Monitor and manage internal processes including the grantee timelines, granting stream implementation, and stream impact reports
  • Oversee internal processes relating to grant applications, reviews, and approval determinations
  • Co-lead the Granting Advisory Circle and Granting Review Circles, including scheduling, facilitating, and recommendation oversight
  • Oversee relationship building and outreach initiatives occurring throughout the department related to grantees, funders, and community partnerships
  • Liaise with internal partners (Finance, Communications, etc) to support program functionality, payments, outreach, and more
  • Lead communications initiatives for Granting Programs, including developing a strategy and supporting website updates
  • Act as primary system administrator on granting software
  • Manage special projects, including planning logistics, scheduling, and monitoring budgets
  • Support the evaluation of programming and the sharing of impact and outcome reports
  • Develop and monitor budgets and expenditures across various projects
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting requirements both internally and externally
  • Build a culture of shared leadership by mentoring managers and team leads in relational accountability and adaptive change practices.
  • Facilitate learning cycles within teams to foster reflection, feedback, and course-correction.
  • Regularly assess and recommend adjustments to the organization’s procedures and policies to ensure the organization stays current and relevant in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Promote a collaborative, transparent, and accountable organizational culture that reflects IYR’s values.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, working groups, and committees to advance organizational goals.
  • Uphold and promote the organization’s cultural values and guiding principles in all workplace practices.
  • Engage with the Indigenous community and support initiatives that strengthen relationships and collaboration.
  • Carry out your duties in a manner that does not adversely affect your own health and safety or that of others by reporting all potential hazards, all incidents, and injuries.
  • Co-operate, support, and engage with any measures introduced in the workplace to improve occupational health & safety.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in roles related to project oversight or program development
  • 3+ years in roles related to funding or granting
  • Previous people leadership experience an asset
  • Experience working with Indigenous youth communities an asset
  • Strong administrative experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high attention to detail.
