About the role

  • Product Design Technician at Cummins creating and maintaining drawings and specifications for products. Ensuring compliance with industry standards while engaging in various engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure model and drawing quality.
  • Create and maintains product specifications utilizing Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing.
  • Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) data management tools for configuration control and to maintain security.
  • Ensure application of company, industry, national, and international standards.
  • Process internal engineering work requests.
  • Engage with required functional areas as needed.
  • Check models and drawings prior to release.
  • Work with engineering to generate concept models.
  • Analyze adequacy of design using various design tools.
  • Create Master CAD Models which are used to generate part tooling.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Experience with electrical equipment (engines, generators, transfer switches) is a strong asset.
  • Experience with CAD modeling programs (SolidWorks, Creo) is also a strong asset.
  • High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.
  • Regionally applicable certification or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.
  • Significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
