About the role

Product Design Technician at Cummins creating and maintaining drawings and specifications for products. Ensuring compliance with industry standards while engaging in various engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

Ensure model and drawing quality.
Create and maintains product specifications utilizing Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing.
Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) data management tools for configuration control and to maintain security.
Ensure application of company, industry, national, and international standards.
Process internal engineering work requests.
Engage with required functional areas as needed.
Check models and drawings prior to release.
Work with engineering to generate concept models.
Analyze adequacy of design using various design tools.
Create Master CAD Models which are used to generate part tooling.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office.
Strong communication skills.
Strong time management skills.
Experience with electrical equipment (engines, generators, transfer switches) is a strong asset.
Experience with CAD modeling programs (SolidWorks, Creo) is also a strong asset.
High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.
Regionally applicable certification or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.
Significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
