About the role

  • Product Owner managing OTC derivatives software for capital markets institutions. Owning product strategy, backlog prioritization, and delivery across SDLC and AI-DLC.

Responsibilities

  • Own a product or functionality from conception through delivery across the full SDLC and AI-DLC
  • Define initiatives, epics, user stories, detailed requirements, and acceptance criteria
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog in Jira
  • Hold regular grooming sessions with development and maintain at least three sprints of ready backlog
  • Collaborate with teams to align dependent workstreams and execute projects on time
  • Analyze the impact of initiatives on client satisfaction and business outcomes
  • Communicate project status, risks, and resource requirements to stakeholders
  • Maintain documentation of requirements, acceptance criteria, project plans, and progress reports
  • Work independently to drive initiatives forward
  • Validate developed functionality and present new functionality to the broader organization

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in product management
  • Experience owning a product or service from conception through delivery
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, AI-DLC, and Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
  • Strong understanding of capital markets and OTC derivatives, including interest rate, FX, and commodity derivatives
  • Experience with Jira and active product backlog management and prioritization
  • Highly organized, driven, and capable of working autonomously
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask across concurrent projects
  • Ability to document detailed requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Proficiency in rapid prototyping
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on delivering client value
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
