About the role

  • Portfolio Manager optimizing capital allocation, analytics, and value creation for EDC’s private equity investments. Driving portfolio performance through data, forecasting, governance, and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the capital model, including capital flows, portfolio allocations, and performance benchmarking
  • Partner with investment professionals to embed data-driven methodologies across sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio value creation
  • Monitor portfolio investment performance, risk and performance analytics, forecasting, and reconciliation across financial reporting systems
  • Assess and value individual investments and maintain relationships with portfolio investment leads
  • Provide or coordinate value-added support for portfolio companies’ growth strategies
  • Deliver forecasting, program-level reporting, and analytics tracking capital and value creation strategies
  • Build reports, dashboards, AI prompts, and analytics to optimize the risk program
  • Provide senior leadership with forecasting, scenario modelling, and portfolio-level reporting insights
  • Lead special projects to enhance governance, systems, processes, reports, and operations
  • Serve as a resource to the Investments Team and liaison with Technology, Risk, Finance, and Corporate Reporting Teams
  • Collaborate with EDC customers and internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience within the private equity, corporate or venture capital investing industry
  • Demonstrated track record of portfolio performance accountability, advanced analytics, and systems innovation
  • Demonstrated experience in the ongoing assessment and valuation of investee companies
  • Regular governance/financial investor context engagement experience
  • Verifiable and active industry network relevant to the team’s mandate
  • In-depth investment analytics, portfolio construction, and capital modelling expertise
  • Solid understanding of investment accounting principles and concepts
  • Strong technical and data acumen, including advanced Excel, querying, dashboarding (e.g. Power BI), and AI skills
  • Ability to bridge communication between technical, finance, risk, and investment teams
  • Ability to meet requisite government security screening requirements
  • Ability to work legally in Canada at the time of application preferred
  • CFA, FRM, CAIA, CBV, MBA/MFIN, or similar designation is an asset
  • Expertise in equity systems and data platforms such as Preqin, Capital IQ, PitchBook, eFront, or Burgiss is an asset
