M&A Senior Associate/Manager executing transactions, financial modeling and valuations for EY clients. Advising businesses on acquisitions, divestitures, financing and strategic capital sourcing.
Responsibilities
Execute the M&A process from deal sourcing to closure
Perform market research and analyze business drivers, market competition, industry risks and opportunities
Synthesize comparable company and precedent transaction research for modeling, competitive and industry analysis, potential buyers and negotiation support
Prepare detailed financial models, including scenario analysis
Prepare valuation analyses using discounted cash flow, comparable market multiples and precedent transaction techniques
Prepare first drafts of pitches, marketing materials, management presentations and client presentations
Oversee electronic data rooms and manage due diligence processes for buy-side and sell-side engagements
Provide strategic advice to clients across industries and transaction types
Support VPs and SVPs in identifying and exploring potential new business
Requirements
Bilingualism in both French and English is required
Working knowledge of Canadian and International Finance and Accounting concepts
Understanding of key business drivers, principally as they relate to M&A transactions
Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint and financial modeling skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to work under pressure with multiple competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
Ability to develop relationships and liaise with EY colleagues and team members
Passion for working with entrepreneurs, private business owners and management teams
Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a similar program
Minimum 6+ years of relevant work experience, such as investment banking, M&A, financing, corporate development or financial analysis
