About the role

  • Product Owner for Funeral 365 ERP systems at Groupe Conseil ERA, leading project governance and execution. Collaborating with clients to ensure quality delivery and effective communication.

Responsibilities

  • As the ERP Product Owner (Product Owner) for Funéraire 365, you will be the primary point of contact for a major client and lead a dedicated team.
  • Ensure delivery (quality, timelines, scope), protect the contract and the team, and maintain strong project governance.
  • Lead program governance: facilitate weekly committees, organize steering reviews, and conduct executive follow-ups with the client.
  • Align and arbitrate stakeholders: clarify expectations, facilitate decisions, and maintain a clear delivery framework (scope, milestones, responsibilities, processes).
  • Define and protect the scope: formalize the contractual scope (SOW, backlog, objectives) and rigorously defend it against scope-change requests.
  • Manage change requests: qualify each request, assess impacts, arbitrate and professionally refuse or replan items outside scope when necessary.
  • Orchestrate priorities and dependencies: sequence deliverables, manage team capacity, and quickly adjust scheduling according to urgencies, risks and constraints.
  • Gather and analyze business needs: act as an ERP-focused Product Owner by translating requirements into user stories, requirements and actionable acceptance criteria.
  • Organize validations and demos: oversee demonstration sessions, drive user acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinate deployments to production.
  • Protect the team: act as a shield against client pressure, avoid firefighting (“cowboy”) mode and preserve the team’s stability and focus.
  • Maintain structured communication: establish clear channels that define what, when, why and under which rules to communicate with all parties.
  • Provide program reporting: produce regular reports on status, risks, decisions made, dependencies and upcoming key milestones.

Requirements

  • University degree in business administration, project management, information systems or a related field (an asset).
  • Significant experience leading complex ERP programs/projects.
  • Proven experience in an execution- and governance-oriented role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong experience in scope governance and change request management (qualification, impact analysis, arbitration, decision-making).
  • Good understanding of ERP systems (business processes, integrations, master data, cross-functional impacts) and/or Microsoft Dynamics BC.
  • Comfortable with Agile methodologies.
  • Fluency in French and advanced English required due to the nature of the role, including regular communication with clients outside Quebec.
  • PMP, Prince2, PSM, SAFe or equivalent project/program management certification (an asset).
  • Fundamental accounting knowledge (financial statements, AR, AP, trusts) is an asset.
  • Exceptional assertiveness: ability to say no, refocus and firmly maintain scope.
  • Execution-oriented leadership and the ability to mobilize teams toward objectives.
  • Team management skills: coordination, coaching, effective delegation and talent development.
  • Diplomacy combined with firmness, particularly under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical, synthesizing and decision-making skills.
  • Strong sense of prioritization and commitment to protecting the team.
