About the role

  • Director of Product leading Instacart’s logistics strategy for grocery delivery and pickup. Optimizing fulfillment cost, speed, quality, routing, and shopper experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the multi-year product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Logistics
  • Drive cross-company momentum behind the Logistics product strategy
  • Partner with executive leadership to define, prioritize, and deliver strategy
  • Translate complex, interconnected tradeoffs into clear narratives that align the organization
  • Solve complex fulfillment problems and build 0-to-1 products and services
  • Improve efficiency, speed, and quality at scale
  • Lead, hire, develop, and grow a high-performing product management team
  • Establish operating rhythms, hiring plans, and development frameworks
  • Partner with engineering and machine learning leadership on technical tradeoffs
  • Define success metrics and maintain an experimentation portfolio
  • Use data, first-principles thinking, and user research to make product decisions
  • Lead cross-organizational initiatives that improve organizational health
  • Mentor and develop product managers across the broader organization

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management or similar experience
  • 4+ years managing and developing product managers, including senior PMs
  • Strong marketplace or systems thinking
  • Proven track record leading multi-quarter initiatives and delivering impactful products measured by hard business outcomes
  • Strong technical fluency with ML- and algorithms-driven products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to influence executive leadership and align cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain high-performing PMs
  • Experience in a multi-sided dynamic marketplace-oriented role, envisioning or evaluating algorithms-based products and services
  • Background in logistics, fulfillment, supply chain, or operationally complex physical environments
  • Experience with e-commerce or grocery technology
