About the role
- Claims Adjuster position at Intact with training provided for new employees. Responsibilities include managing claims processes, interviewing customers, and assessing liabilities.
Responsibilities
- Open new claims over the phone with customers, then ensure the situation is handled immediately.
- Interview insureds and/or witnesses to gather their accounts of events.
- Determine whether the claim is covered or not by analyzing the insured’s policy details.
- Analyze the information obtained, make decisions to determine liability and review damage assessments.
- Settle claims fairly and equitably, confirm damage amounts and make payments.
Requirements
- Claims adjuster licence and successful completion of exams.
- Experience in a similar position.
- Strong time-management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- An attestation of college studies (AEC) in Insurance or a completed CEGEP or bachelor’s degree (an exception is possible if you have a high school diploma AND three years of full-time work experience).
- Bilingual in English and French: For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
