About the role

  • Claims Adjuster position at Intact with training provided for new employees. Responsibilities include managing claims processes, interviewing customers, and assessing liabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Open new claims over the phone with customers, then ensure the situation is handled immediately.
  • Interview insureds and/or witnesses to gather their accounts of events.
  • Determine whether the claim is covered or not by analyzing the insured’s policy details.
  • Analyze the information obtained, make decisions to determine liability and review damage assessments.
  • Settle claims fairly and equitably, confirm damage amounts and make payments.

Requirements

  • Claims adjuster licence and successful completion of exams.
  • Experience in a similar position.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • An attestation of college studies (AEC) in Insurance or a completed CEGEP or bachelor’s degree (an exception is possible if you have a high school diploma AND three years of full-time work experience).
  • Bilingual in English and French: For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
