Senior Claims Adjuster handling civil liability claims for Intact in Quebec. Reviewing legal positions and supporting insured clients in various dispute stages.
Responsibilities
Review files brought before the Small Claims Court, the Administrative Housing Tribunal and in arbitration; analyze the position taken and assess the strategy to adopt, including alternative dispute resolution methods;
Analyze and take responsibility for arbitration cases;
Inform the insured of developments in the file;
As a claims expert, participate in negotiation sessions and mediations;
As a claims expert, accompany the insured during hearings at Small Claims Court and/or before the Administrative Housing Tribunal and in arbitration;
Structure positions clearly, precisely and in accordance with applicable rules;
Quickly take charge of the client and ensure ongoing file follow-up;
Communicate in a professional and appropriate manner;
Clearly explain and simplify file elements for the insured and the broker;
Simplify matters and find solutions;
Provide technical support to claims experts and unit managers across multiple lines of business;
Share and transfer your knowledge, contributing to the development of colleagues;
Stay up to date with case law;
Collaborate actively and professionally with the company’s various departments;
Participate in improving operational processes;
Promote teamwork;
Participate in catastrophe response.
Requirements
Hold a 5A Claims Adjuster certificate
Bachelor’s degree in law or a college diploma in legal techniques (an asset)
Bilingual (French and English)
Regular interaction with colleagues across the country is required
Hold a valid driver's license
