About the role

  • Représentant du centre d’appels vendant des billets d’autobus et de train pour Ontario Northland, organisme de transport ontarien. Répondant aux clients par téléphone, courriel, clavardage et médias sociaux.

Responsibilities

  • Gather information from incoming calls, live chat sessions and various media platforms, and route it appropriately.
  • Sell bus and train tickets by phone, including Ontario Northland combined through-tickets.
  • Provide the public with fare and schedule information for all services.
  • Perform daily checks and reconcile paperwork and daily sales.
  • Respond to customer inquiries by email, telephone or other correspondence methods.
  • Follow up on customer concerns and complaints.
  • Use the Bus Messaging Service software to provide pricing/fare information by phone.
  • Provide live chat support to customers on the Commission’s website.
  • Follow up on inquiries and respond via social media platforms.
  • Communicate with customer service sales agents, bus drivers/operators and the control centre.
  • Work day, evening and night shifts in a 24/7 call centre.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
  • Two to three years of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a call centre.
  • Fluent in English and French.
  • Must be able to complete a French language proficiency test.
  • Available to work shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.
  • Ability to work independently from home in a safe, dedicated workspace.
  • Have an internet connection that provides excellent call quality and low latency, with minimum speeds of 10 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Windows applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience reconciling multiple transactions.
  • Working knowledge of media platforms, including Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Flexible and adaptable to schedule changes.
  • Working knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 2005.
  • Commitment to complying with the Commission’s occupational health and safety standards.
  • The successful candidate will be subject to a criminal record check, employment reference checks and education verification.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
