Responsibilities
Manage and prioritize the product backlog for merchandising planning in alignment with the product strategy
Define and refine user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria
Facilitate Agile ceremonies and ensure backlog readiness
Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery of features
Collaborate closely with merchandising and planning teams
Translate business processes into scalable system capabilities
Ensure alignment with key metrics (sales, margins, sell-through, inventory turnover)
Define detailed requirements for planning modules
Consider performance and scalability of solutions
Use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to enhance analysis, documentation, and the backlog
Collaborate with data teams to support decision-making
Continuously improve quality, performance, and usability
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or a related field
Product Owner certification (CSPO or equivalent) is an asset
3 to 6+ years of experience as a Product Owner or business analyst in merchandising or planning systems
Experience in one or more of the following areas: merchandising planning, assortment planning, financial planning (Open-to-Buy (OTB), margins, sales forecasting)
Solid understanding of retail KPIs (sell-through, GMROI, margins, inventory turnover)
Knowledge of APIs, integrations, and data models
Exposure to analytics or AI tools
Curious and open to learning new products
Strong command of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the product lifecycle
Understanding of data models, workflows, and system interactions
Experience with: enterprise integrations (ERP, merchandising and planning systems), APIs, data mapping, XML/JSON, SQL and relational databases, ideally Oracle
Experience with AI tools (Copilot, LLM-based tools)
