About the role

  • AI Program Associate developing future artificial intelligence leaders and contributing to data science initiatives at Manulife. Gain hands-on experience with AI and machine learning projects.

Responsibilities

  • Gain experience across key AI capabilities: AI & Machine Learning, Generative AI, Engineering & Delivery, Responsible & Governed AI
  • Explore and prepare data; engineer features and build baseline models
  • Develop and evaluate machine learning models (e.g., forecasting, classification, NLP, anomaly detection)
  • Prototype and test GenAI solutions
  • Build reproducible code and pipelines using Python, SQL, and modern tools
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy solutions into production environments
  • Contribute to model documentation, validation, and governance practices

Requirements

  • Graduating in December 2026 or May 2027 with a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages and concepts (e.g. Java, C, SAS, SPSS, R, or Python)
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and scikit-learn
  • Experience with common database querying languages such as SQL
  • Understanding of version control (Git) and collaborative coding practices
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and tools like Databricks
  • Awareness of Generative AI concepts (e.g., prompt engineering, RAG, LLM fine-tuning)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, QlikView)
