About the role
- Junior Financial Analyst supporting Minto’s financial reporting, statements, and analyses. Contributing to close processes and reporting improvements for a Canadian community developer.
Responsibilities
- Support the Financial Reporting Team in completing financial and management reports and analyses for entities within the Minto Group
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures
- Complete data entry, validation, and data manipulation for reporting deliverables
- Assist with preparing financial reports and analyses
- Assist with preparing financial statements and related disclosures using Workiva
- Assist with survey completion and submissions to Statistics Canada
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial close and reporting processes
- Respond to ad hoc financial queries
- Perform ad hoc duties, analyses, and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary accounting, finance, business, or related co-op program
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience preparing financial statements and performing account reconciliations and/or financial analysis is an asset
- Experience with Workiva and OneStream is considered an asset
- Ability to learn and effectively use new technology tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to function efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to transition between working independently and supporting team initiatives
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members and other departments
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
