About the role

  • Government relations manager advancing MS policy and advocacy for MS Canada. Mobilizing community voices through political analysis, partnerships, and digital campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Manage government relations and advocacy initiatives
  • Transform MS community experiences and insights into meaningful policy change
  • Monitor the political landscape and analyze issues
  • Coordinate digital advocacy efforts that mobilize supporters into collective action
  • Develop strategic partnerships and engage the community
  • Execute advocacy initiatives in a timely manner
  • Strengthen MS Canada’s ability to influence systems, remove barriers, and accelerate progress toward better care, well-being, and equity for people affected by MS across Canada
  • Collaborate with the mission team

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing government relations and advocacy initiatives that advance policy change
  • Strong analytical and political awareness
  • Ability to scan political and policy environments, identify emerging opportunities, and translate insights into clear action plans
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience coordinating timelines, team and community members, and deliverables
  • Experience designing and coordinating digital advocacy programs, including supporter mobilization tools, action pages, or digital campaign platforms, considered an asset
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with colleagues, partners, and community members
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the not-for-profit sector, political processes, and government relations in Canada
  • Willingness to travel within Canada
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends for meetings and events
  • Must complete a background check in compliance with the Screening Measures Policy
