About the role

  • AI Product Owner Intern at Sentinel focusing on research projects in emerging AI technologies, contributing to reporting, and prototyping new features. Join a fast-paced environment with real ownership and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Owning small research projects on emerging AI capabilities (Skills, Connectors, MCPs, Agents, and whatever lands next) and presenting your findings as verbal walkthroughs, with follow-ups as we dig in
  • Translating that research into concrete recommendations: what is this, how does it relate to Sentinel, and what should we do about it
  • Contributing to reporting and data visualization work, helping define what dashboards should look like, how they should feel, and iterating on them with the team
  • Helping us address bugs across the platform, from reproduction and investigation through to proposing fixes within our plan-review-before-execution protocol
  • Exploring and prototyping new features using modern AI-powered development tools (Lovable, Cursor, Claude Code), always with a data-first mindset
  • Learning and operating within our development methodology: investigate first, plan before prompting, surgical edits only, move fast, and bring that rigor to everything you touch.

Requirements

  • Are a student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, typically in your 1st to 3rd year
  • Are comfortable using AI-powered tools like Lovable, Cursor, or Claude Code, or are excited to learn them
  • Have an eye for design and a genuine passion for building great products
  • Are genuinely fascinated by what's happening in AI right now and want to spend real time figuring out where it's going
  • Can take an unfamiliar topic, go research it, and come back able to explain it clearly to people who haven't done the reading
  • Know how to code (a plus, but not required), your product instinct, curiosity, and ability to learn matter more
  • Have strong written and verbal communication, when you present, people leave knowing more than when they walked in
  • Have strong initiative: you don't wait for someone to tell you what needs to be done. "This isn't my responsibility" is not in your vocabulary
  • Are comfortable operating inside a structured process, we plan, review, then execute, and we don't skip steps.

Benefits

  • Flexible and hybrid work arrangement
  • Paid national holidays
  • Direct mentorship from senior leadership and hands-on product experience
  • Opportunity to grow into a full-time role as Sentinel scales.
