About the role
- Senior Product Designer creating B2B payment experiences for NMI, a platform powering commerce payments. Designing workflows, systems, and research-driven products across Payment Gateway offerings.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design efforts for technical B2B workflows across greenfield and existing Payment Gateway products
- Create journey maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs balancing user needs and business goals
- Plan and conduct internal usability testing and external validation with partners and merchants
- Build and maintain design systems across NMI’s products
- Benchmark designs against competitors and identify opportunities for improvement
- Use AI tools such as v0, Cursor, and Figma AI to accelerate prototyping, synthesize research, and explore design variations
- Update design-driven customer engagement materials, support conference planning, and assist with special projects
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to identify opportunities and translate user insights into scalable design solutions
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing B2B digital products and systems
- Strong portfolio showcasing design process, breadth of work, and impact
- Familiarity with financial products, APIs, or transaction systems, ideally payment gateways or similar B2B SaaS platforms
- Proven cross-functional collaboration and ability to present design decisions and processes clearly
- Strong verbal and visual presentation skills with an articulate point of view on design decisions
- Ability to simplify complex technical and payment concepts into intuitive user experiences
- Proficiency in Figma and experience building and maintaining design systems
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and their applications in regulated payment workflows
- Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI tools such as v0, Cursor, ChatGPT, Midjourney, or similar; required skill
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing and translating findings into actionable designs
- Satisfactory background and financial checks required for employment
- Legal right to be employed in the United States, where applicable
