About the role

  • Project Manager at ORBCOMM leading high-impact initiatives from concept to launch in a hybrid environment. Collaborating across functions to ensure project success with operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership to manage multiple projects while meeting goals for cost, quality and delivery
  • Interfaces with product management and cross-functional representatives to ensure robust requirements and design specifications in step with overall project needs
  • Conducts planning with functional managers and project team to breaking down work and determine tasks, durations, dependencies, key milestones, deliverables, budget and risks
  • Project schedule is created based on project plan
  • Efficiently manage and communicate milestones to stakeholders throughout the project
  • Understands, drives and monitors development activities and deliverables across functional areas, and with external organizations, ensuring timely execution against plan
  • Manages contracts, requirements and specifications with external partners/collaborators
  • Ensures key project engineering documentation (functional/design specs etc.) are generated and maintained throughout development
  • Conducts status meetings and maintains, action and risk registers
  • Facilitates technical reviews with project team and holds gate review meetings with key stakeholders
  • Leads cross-functional teams in the identification, assessment and management of project risk, development of mitigation plans and their execution
  • Tracks project activity to ensure execution within budget, schedule and scope

Requirements

  • Collegediploma/University degree (Technical/Engineering) with coursework or certification in project management
  • 5+ years of experience in project management with a proven track record of independently leading technical and cross-functional projects
  • 3+ years product development project management experience including interaction with project teams including remote members and cross-functional managers
  • Ability to work on concurrent projects with diverse scope and teams of varying size
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of project management processes, workflow and terminology
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project
  • Familiar with SharePoint and Office 365 tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with different types of personalities
