About the role

  • Operations Data Analyst supporting Pano AI’s AI-powered wildfire detection platform. Building BI tools, forecasting staffing demand, and improving vendor and agent performance data for PIC Ops.

Responsibilities

  • Own Metabase SQL, dashboards, and self-serve tools used daily by individual contributors and leadership for operational work and KPI tracking
  • Investigate performance differences across vendors and time periods to identify trends and operational gaps
  • Identify data quality issues in core reporting tables and submit requests for changes to dbt models or warehouse tables
  • Root-cause anomalies in vendor and agent performance data using a hypothesis-driven approach
  • Maintain consistent metric definitions and detect broken or misleading metrics
  • Forecast staffing needs using incident volume, seasonality, throughput, fire activity, weather, and other relevant external datasets
  • Analyze headcount and coverage against demand and support peak wildfire season staffing scenario planning
  • Document analytical findings for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Immerse in PIC Ops workflows to ensure tools and analysis reflect how agents and leads work
  • Travel to international vendor sites to observe operations and incorporate insights into analysis and tooling

Requirements

  • Proven technical proficiency in SQL
  • Ability to manage and sustain production-grade BI infrastructure using platforms such as Metabase or Looker
  • Inquisitive mindset and willingness to understand operational workflows firsthand
  • Proficiency in Python for statistical analysis
  • Hands-on experience with time-series modeling or predictive forecasting highly valued
  • Ability to identify and integrate relevant third-party datasets
  • Rigorous approach to understanding and validating metrics
  • Ability to define well-scoped and prioritized requests for central data teams
  • Strong written communication for technical and operational audiences
  • Resilience and adaptability in a high-stakes, rapid-growth environment
  • Ability to travel to international vendor sites
