About the role

Database Activity Monitoring Analyst securing RBC database systems through DAM solutions, anomaly detection, and threat response. Partnering with application teams and data owners to reduce database security risks.

Responsibilities

Implement and manage database activity monitoring (DAM) solutions to track and analyze database user behavior
Monitor real-time database activity, identify anomalies, and promptly respond to potential security threats
Develop security policies to detect suspicious database activity
Work with application teams and data owners to identify potential database risks
Create and maintain documentation on technical processes and troubleshooting
Stay up to date on emerging threats and industry best practices to continually enhance DAM strategies

Strong knowledge of database technologies, architecture, and SQL
Detailed knowledge of database systems, security protocols, and access controls
Ability to analyze and interpret database activity logs to identify potential security issues
Excellent interpersonal and highly developed verbal and written communication skills
Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
2–5 years of cybersecurity or relevant experience
Experience in implementing and managing database activity monitoring solutions (nice to have)
Professional designation such as CISSP, CRISC, or CCSP (nice to have)
Proficiency in scripting or a programming language for data visualization (nice to have)
