About the role

  • Payroll Administrator managing full-cycle payroll in insurance and financial services sector. Remote role with potential for permanent employment after 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Process full-cycle payroll accurately and on schedule using payroll systems such as ADP
  • Manage payroll-related accounts payable tasks as required
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Prepare and post payroll journal entries and supporting documentation
  • Review and verify quarterly payroll tax reports for accuracy and compliance
  • Support year-end payroll processing activities, including reconciliations and reporting
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies or data issues
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential payroll records and documentation
  • Enter, update, and validate payroll data within payroll systems
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Provide support for ad hoc payroll matters and operational requests as they arise

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification or equivalent payroll certification
  • Approximately five years of experience in payroll processing, including full-cycle payroll
  • Experience using payroll systems, with ADP considered a strong asset
  • Advanced Excel skills for payroll analysis, reporting, and data validation
  • Experience preparing payroll journal entries and payroll-related financial reports
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in payroll processing
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity
  • Strong documentation, organization, and time management skills with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to respond effectively to employee inquiries
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is considered an asset
  • Experience with accounts payable processes or payroll tax reporting is an asset
  • Experience supporting year-end payroll processing and reconciliations is an asset
  • Experience in a corporate or multi-province payroll environment is an asset
