About the role

  • Contract payroll consultant processing Canadian or UK payroll on ADP for Melita Group, an HR outsourcing firm. Managing client payrolls, reconciliations, statutory filings, and year-end processing.

Responsibilities

  • Process recurring and off-cycle payrolls from start to finish in ADP WFN/iHCM, including inputs, validation, approvals and final submission
  • Review payroll registers, reconcile results, and fix variances before funds are released
  • Ensure statutory deductions, filings and remittances are accurate and timely
  • Handle new hires, terminations, final pay, and changes to pay and deductions
  • Support quarter-end and year-end processing
  • Answer client and employee payroll questions clearly and quickly
  • Identify compliance risks and upcoming legislative changes affecting clients
  • Work with Melita's Global Payroll Services Manager to process payrolls for multiple clients

Requirements

  • Canada track: At least 3 years processing Canadian payroll, with recent hands-on work in ADP Workforce Now Canada platform
  • Canada track: Solid knowledge of CPP/QPP, EI, federal and provincial income tax, and employer health taxes
  • Canada track: Year-end experience with T4 and T4A forms, plus Records of Employment (ROE)
  • Quebec payroll experience, including RL-1 and QPIP, is strongly preferred
  • PCP or CPM designation from the National Payroll Institute is preferred
  • UK track: At least 3 years processing UK payroll, with recent hands-on work in ADP iHCM platform
  • UK track: Solid knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance and RTI submissions (FPS/EPS) to HMRC
  • UK track: Experience with pension auto-enrolment, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP), student loan deductions and attachment of earnings
  • UK track: Year-end experience with P60, P11D and P45 forms
  • CIPP qualification is preferred
  • Close attention to detail and steady judgment under payroll deadlines
  • Clear written and spoken communication with clients and internal teams
  • Comfort working independently and remotely across time zones overlapping with US Pacific time
