About the role
- Payroll Officer managing India payroll processing, reporting, compliance, and financial integrations at DEME. Ensuring accurate payments, statutory compliance, reconciliations, and payroll data integrity.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll activities and ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
- Validate payroll inputs including attendance, leave records, reimbursements, deductions, and other payroll components
- Prepare, maintain, and analyze payroll MIS reports and other HR-related reports
- Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations using MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Present payroll statistics and insights to management and support data-driven decision-making
- Coordinate payroll payments, tax processing, statutory compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Support payroll-related financial integrations and collaborate closely with Finance on General Ledger and accounting reconciliations
- Maintain payroll records and ensure accurate documentation in line with internal policies and legal requirements
- Identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
- Support internal and external audits by providing payroll data and documentation when required
- Work with payroll and HR systems and contribute to process improvements and system enhancements
- Ensure strict confidentiality and security of employee payroll information
- Stay up to date with labor laws, payroll regulations, and compliance requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- 4 to 6 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on payroll experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, HR operations, statutory compliance, and labor legislation
- Experience in payroll reporting, MIS preparation, and data analysis
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and strong reporting skills
- Experience working with payroll and HR systems and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with HR, Finance, and external partners
- Discreet, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information with professionalism
