About the role

  • Workday Payroll Analyst supporting Workday Payroll accuracy and issue resolution for EllisDon’s construction operations. Collaborating with Payroll, HR, IT, and cross-functional teams across Canadian locations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries and support requests submitted through ServiceNow.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot Workday Payroll issues involving payroll transactions, worker data, earnings, deductions, tax setup, pay results, and payroll processing errors.
  • Document interactions, issue details, root-cause findings, resolutions, and follow-up actions according to company procedures and audit requirements.
  • Escalate complex payroll or system issues to specialized or technical support teams.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Workday Payroll functionality, business processes, integrations, configuration impacts, and best practices.
  • Create and maintain payroll job aids, FAQs, process documentation, and training materials.
  • Monitor recurring support trends, data issues, and user feedback to identify process improvement, system enhancement, or training opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Benefits, Compensation, IT, and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues and maintain data integrity.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience with Workday Payroll Canada.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Workday Payroll, including troubleshooting payroll-related transactions, validations, integrations, and configuration impacts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to explain payroll and system concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality, empathetic support.
  • Basic understanding of HR processes, payroll workflows, and data confidentiality requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team and adapt to changing procedures and technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow is advantageous.
