About the role

  • Sales Specialist managing strategic sales for Red Hat in the technology sector. Leading teams, mentoring professionals, and exceeding revenue targets across various key industries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the most complex net new/strategic sales opportunities, often involving multiple stakeholders and significant revenue potential.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve ambitious revenue targets, proactively identifying and mitigating significant risks.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Sales Specialists, providing guidance and support on complex sales cycles and strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor for both internal and external stakeholders on highly specialized solutions and industry trends.
  • Contribute to the development of sales strategies and methodologies, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to senior-level executives, driving key decision-making.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key partners and customers, ensuring successful collaboration and long-term partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain advanced knowledge of products and solutions across the Red Hat portfolio.
  • Define and implement high-impact, long-term sales strategies.
  • Lead strategic relationships with key industry leaders and partners.
  • Serve as the key advisor on significant product roadmaps and initiatives.
  • Mentor senior sales professionals across regions.
  • Coordinate with global leadership on cross-functional business strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a technical discipline is required; MBA is preferred
  • Solid leadership skills in a technology sales organization (software is highly preferred), with demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and executing in both direct and channel routes- to-market
  • Proven experience developing sales organizations that consistently deliver double digit year-over-year increases in revenue
  • Excellent planning, financial, and analytical skills and a proven ability to apply these skills to complex situations with competing priorities
  • Good customer orientation and presentation skills
  • Ability to partner with senior business leaders to understand needs and deliver solutions that meet expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and design novel approaches that balance local customer needs with corporate guidelines and philosophies
  • Ability to articulate and evangelize the vision and positioning of both Red Hat and open source technologies, and secure long-term customer commitments
  • Experience building and developing successful relationships within the technology market, systems integrators, independent software vendors, and network technology partners
