About the role
- Senior Solutions Architect helping Upsun’s cloud application platform customers adopt AI-native workflows. Designing integrations, proving implementations, and shaping reusable deployment patterns.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical relationship across the full customer lifecycle, before signature and after it
- Lead discovery, architecture and security reviews, proofs of value, and technical decision-making conversations
- Expand accounts from the first workflow to additional workflows across new and existing customers
- Build workflows, custom steps, and integrations with customers' GitHub or GitLab, Jira or Linear, Slack, and existing CI systems
- Translate customer problems and feedback into structured input for product and engineering roadmaps
- Capture deployments as reusable reference architectures, workflow templates, and documented approaches
- Handle security questionnaires, architecture reviews, compliance questions, and RFP inputs
- Deliver technical workshops and executive briefings tailored to the audience
- Design workflows and architectures that fit customer environments and prove them through working implementations
- Contribute patterns from early deployments to the product line and enable partners and other architects to deploy them
Requirements
- 7+ years in technical roles, with substantial time in customer-facing architecture, including solutions architecture, principal or lead pre-sales engineering, technical consulting, professional services, or founding engineer work with design partners
- Ability to code and be useful within an unfamiliar codebase and CI setup within a few days
- Comfort with at least one of PHP and Symfony, JavaScript and TypeScript, Python, or Go
- Fluency in Git workflows, CI/CD, testing strategy, code review practice, release management, and how these break at scale
- Competence with containers, environments, secrets handling, cloud primitives, and production operations
- Experience building with AI agents, including multi-step agentic workflows, tool and MCP integration, context engineering, evaluating and steering model output, and cost and latency tradeoffs
- Working understanding of governance, audit, and cost control in agentic systems
- Ability to anchor technical conversations in business outcomes
- Executive presence with engineering, security, and finance stakeholders
- Strong written communication for architecture documents, runbooks, and briefs
- Comfort with ambiguity and working across time zones
- Legally authorized to work in Canada or the US
- Must complete a background check
