About the role
- Laboratory Technician responsible for special process control at Rolls-Royce in Montreal. Preparing samples, testing components, and maintaining quality documentation for aviation engines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, test, measure and evaluate specimens or control samples for special processes in accordance with technical specifications and associated documentation.
- Accept or reject repaired components or special processes that have been tested.
- Maintain records and quality documentation related to special process control.
- Keep databases up to date.
- Support the relevant production engineer in developing chemical or metallurgical techniques or processes.
- Analyze components, debris, fuel, oil or other fluid samples from engines and prepare a laboratory report.
- Perform dimensional assessment of surface defects, where applicable.
- Publish results in a laboratory report.
Requirements
- Technical diploma in chemistry or metallurgy with a minimum of two years of relevant laboratory experience OR a relevant university degree
- Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Technical writing skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Awareness of health, safety and environmental practices
